Consecration of the Bishop
The consecration of Bishop-elect Shane Parker will take place on Sunday May 31 2020 at 7 pm at Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa. Although we will not be able to gather on this occasion, the event will be live-streamed and available on the Diocesan website at https://www.ottawa.anglican.ca, the Diocesan Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/OttawaAnglican and on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/user/ANGDIOOTT. This will be a closed event that, in consultation with Ottawa Public Health, will comply with all COVID-19 guidelines and regulations. |
A Parting Gift for Dean Parker
You may have been wondering about a gift for Dean Parker to honour his twenty year ministry at the Cathedral. He has asked that anyone wishing to make such a gift direct it to the Cathedral Benevolent fund which is used to help those in various kinds of need. You may send a cheque, payable to Christ Church Cathedral, and marked: Dean's Gift, Benevolent Fund. |
Letter from the Bishop’s Office
The Very Reverend Shane Parker will be stepping down from his duties as Rector of the Cathedral on May 13. He will continue to work as Dean and Bishop-elect of the Diocese, preparing for his consecration as a bishop on May 31, and to be ready to begin his duties as our Bishop on June 1. The following letter from the Bishop’s Office announces that the Venerable Pat Johnston will become Acting Rector of the Cathedral effective May 14, 2020.
