Contemplative Prayer for Lent

Contemplative Prayer for Lent

Weekly, beginning Thursday, February 23rd

We live in a world of many voices trying to get our attention.  To focus on one voice can be difficult.  During Lent we are offering an opportunity to be silent to listen for the 'still small voice' that we associate with God.

At 12:05 pm on Thursdays during Lent you are invited to gather in the Cathedral for a time of prayer, reflection and silence, to calm your mind and open your heart to the silence that is God's presence.

Lenten Bible Study

Lenten Bible Study

Four Sundays beginning on March 12th

Join Canon Rob Heard in study and reflection on four passages found in the middle section of the book of Isaiah, commonly called the "Book of Consolation." These passages, the Servant Songs, appear in our lectionary over Christmas and also during Holy Week. They were seminal in the development of Christian theology and have provided inspiration for the arts - music, visual representation and poetry.

The study will be held on four Sundays in Lent, beginning on March 12th and ending on April 2nd, with a start time of noon. Please bring a bag lunch. Come to one, several or all sessions!

Canon Rob will provide more information closer to the beginning of the study, but if you have questions, seek him out after 10.30 am on Sundays.
