Cross of Nails Sunday
The Community of the Cross of Nails (CCN) is a Christian network of over 250 churches, schools, chaplaincies and retreat centres who, drawn together by the story of Coventry Cathedral, share a common commitment to work and pray for peace, justice and reconciliation through: healing the wounds of history; learning to live with difference and celebrate diversity; building a culture of justice and peace. As a network of ordinary people, we work to seek peace and pursue it in our relationships. Christ Church Cathedral became a partner and was presented with a Cross of Nails in 2017 for our work in reconciliation with indigenous peoples. It may be found on the pillar in the Chapel of Reconciliation. This Sunday is an opportunity for all worship communities involved with the CCN to pray together as one body in a part of their morning service, and a chance for us all to reconnect our communities with why the CCN matters, why Coventry still inspires, and where our own stories connect. Elements of today’s liturgy are from the service being held in Coventry. For more information about the Community of the Cross of Nails, please visit: https://www.coventrycathedral.org.uk/reconciliation/community-of-the-cross-of-nails. And if you are interested in our participation, please speak with the Dean. For more infomation visit:

Join our Livestreaming TeamVolunteers Needed Livestreaming our worship services depends on a small but dedicated team of volunteers to managed the system from the sacristy. And it is a much appreciated outreach! Ideally, volunteers are available once a month, on Sunday mornings and/or for special services. If you, or someone you know is interested in this not overly technical way of serving our Cathedral, please speak with the Duty Warden or contact the Cathedral office (613-236-9149; info@ottawacathedral.ca). Please be in touch! |

Are You Able to Help with Coffee After Church? It is a wonderful way to serve Coffee hour is a great time of connecting and an easy way to meet people. Families and groups are welcome to sign up as a unit, and individuals will be put into groups so that no one is on their own. No experience is necessary and you will be contacted well in advance and given a list of dates from which to choose. If we have a roster of many people, it will be light work to provide this valuable ministry. Please contact Jane Morris (janedougmorris@gmail.com) or sign up on Sunday by adding your name to the list. Thank you! |
