Cathedral NewsletterSunday, March 3rd, 2024 The Third Sunday in Lent will be celebrated with Holy Eucharist (BCP) at 8:30 am, and Choral Eucharist (BAS) at 10:30 am. Contemplative Prayer and Organ Music for Meditation during LentContinues Thursdays in Lent at 12:05 pm We live in a world of many voices trying to get our attention. and to focus on one voice can be difficult. During Lent we are offering an opportunity to be silent to listen for the 'still small voice' that we associate with God. Please come to the Chancel for a time of prayer and reflection, silence and organ music to meditate upon, to calm your mind and open your heart to God's presence. |
A Lenten Bible StudyWith Canon Rob Heard During Lent following the 10.30 am services on Sunday, March 10th and 17th, join Canon Rob Heard in studying the four passion narratives in Mark, Matthew, Luke and John. How each of the evangelists shaped these narrative in order to proclaim the message of redemption to their particular communities will be explored. Please note there will not be a session this week due to the annual Vestry meeting at 12:30 in the Great Hall. For the third session on March 10th, please read Luke 22:1 to Luke 23:55. You can see our Cross of Nails on the pillar in the Chapel of Reconciliation. CCN is a worldwide network of some 260 churches, charities, chaplaincies, peace-building and retreat centres, schools and other educational and training organisations, all inspired by the Coventry story of destruction, rebuilding and renewal, and active in reconciliation in our own ways. The three guiding principles are healing the wounds of history, learning to live with difference and celebrate diversity, and building a culture of justice and peace. Children's Worship ActivitiesNew every Sunday Children are welcome to fully participate in worship and the life of the Cathedral! Activity sheets and supplies are available in the bookshelves at the entrance to the Cathedral. Please help yourself to these resources or ask a sidesperson to locate them. There is also a table in the Great Hall to use and the labyrinth to walk. If your child is interested in being a junior server, member of a choir, or a reader, please speak with our clergy. |
