This Sunday morning we celebrate Remembrance Sunday with two services, Holy Eucharist (BCP) at 8:30 am and Choral Eucharist (BAS) at 10:30 am. Our preacher will be Dean Beth Bretzlaff.

Diocesan Ordination

Diocesan Ordination

Saturday, November 19, 2022

God willing, Bishop Shane intends to ordain the Reverends Bob Albert, Claire Bramma, Stephanie McWatt, and Tom Hubschmid to the priesthood, and John Holgate to the transitional diaconate, at 11 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022 (the Feast of St. Hilda of Whitby) in Christ Church Cathedral Ottawa. There will be a time to greet the newly ordained following the service. Clergy are welcome to vest; the liturgical colour will be red (further instructions will be provided to clergy in a separate email).

Intergenerational event

On Sunday, November 20th, please join us in making wreaths as we prepare for Advent! The session will take place after the 10:30 am service and will include lunch, a story, and wreath-making for all ages. Wearing masks after the lunch portion of the event is strongly encouraged. All supplies will be provided, however donations are always welcome.

Mysteries of the Labyrinth: A Workshop

Mysteries of the Labyrinth: A Workshop

Saturday, November 26th, 10 am to 2 pm

Please join us for a half day workshop focused on the mysteries of the labyrinth and give yourself the gift of a special time to gather together, a time of deep listening and a time of preparation for receiving the light. Through the practice of labyrinth walking, poetry, ancient music and community, we navigate the twists and turns of the dark days of winter.

Fee: $30 includes all material and light lunch

This beautiful service is being offered in-person and live-streamed on Friday evenings at 9 pm during Advent, beginning on Friday, December 2nd through December 23rd. Canon Doug Richards and Andrew McAnerney will lead this restful way to end the week!

Join the "Livestreaming" Team

Livestreaming Cathedral services depends on a small but dedicated team of volunteers to managed the system from the sacristy. Ideally we are looking for individuals available once monthly on Sunday mornings and/or for special services. If you, or someone you know is interested in this (not overly technical) way of serving the cathedral, please speak with Dean Beth.

Interested in baptism? Dates for 2023 will be Sundays January 8th, April 16th, and October 15th. Speak with Canon Doug Richards at (613) 236-9149 ext 19 for more information. 

Midweek Eucharist

Midweek Eucharist

Wednesdays at 12:05 pm

Join us at 12.05 pm for a lovely, quiet Eucharist. The service for the first Wednesday of the month will be from the BAS (p 230) with language of the BCP. The other weeks a liturgy from Iona will be used.

The service will be held in the Chancel. Please use the ramp on the east side of the Cathedral to access seating in the Chancel.
