The Dean's Thanksgiving Letter
Dear Friends, As autumn deepens and the days shorten, there comes a moment—often just before dusk—when the light softens and everything seems to glow. The Cathedral’s windows catch that sunset, and for a few fleeting minutes, stone and glass are filled with gold. It is a reminder that even as one season fades, another is quietly taking shape, full of promise. Thanksgiving invites us to linger in that light...

Thank You to our VolunteersWho make Thanksgiving special This week the Cathedral has been full of people preparing for Thanksgiving. The Pastoral Care Team have once again made up and personally delivered beautiful gift parcels to those who are shut-in. The choirs have been practicing all the favourite Thanksgiving music. And this amazing bunch of produce will be transformed into a gorgeous harvest decoration in the Cathedral, along with the flower arrangements. Thank you to all! |

New TreasurerThank you, Shawn! With Nicholas Galambos becoming our Director of Operations and Development, this has opened up the position of Treasurer. Our Wardens have happily appointed Shawn Wenuk to the position. Shawn and Leslie are active members of our Cathedral, as a member of Council and a reader, respectively, and they were baptized and married here in 2024. Shawn invested 9 years of his life, with the help of his loving parents, into getting a business degree at the University of Ottawa and the Telfer School of Management – with an optional specialization in non-profit management. He also completed a second major in Theatre – always being a lover of the performance and history. Shawn started his professional career with the Bank of Montreal, working bilingually as a nationally operating home finance specialist, helping people buy and sell and refinance from coast to coast to coast. Thank you, Shawn, for offering your gifts to this ministry! |

These ministries are Belong Ottawa, Centre 105 in Cornwall, Cornerstone Housing for Women, the Ottawa Pastoral Counselling Centre, and the Refugee Ministry Office. More information on the Community Ministries is available here. In lieu of personal gifts, Archbishop Shane invites you to make a donation to the Hearts of Compassion Fund (HCF).
