Farewell from Canon Hilary
In my last sermon on January 2nd I quoted Richard Rohr: “Religion with epiphanies is living on your heels, ready to go wherever God manifests.” Over the past few weeks I have experienced firsthand what it feels like to live on my heels. Slightly off balance and ready to jump when needed, readjusting my balance back on both feet. It has been privilege serving at the Cathedral. Thank you everyone for your kind words and best wishes. The gifts of faith which you offered deepened my own faith experience. I will carry these gifts with me into my new ministry at Cornerstone. Know that the work I am embarking on will not be in isolation, butwill reflect the love, grace and hope which I have witnessed in this Cathedral community. This is not goodbye, but farewell. I look forward to our paths crossing once again. Until then my hope and prayer for all of you is that as a community of God’s people you will continue to be strong and courageous to step out on your heels, balancing together with outstretched arms… “ready to go wherever God manifests.” Blessings, 2022 promises to be another year full of much enlightenment. |

Memorial Flowers
Every Sunday we marvel at the beautiful flowers that adorn the Cathedral. Many of you will know that these flowers are dedicated by individuals and families to loved ones who have died, some recently and some longer ago, and all remembered with a special tribute. If you are interested in making a memorial donation in remembrance on an upcoming Sunday, please contact the cathedral office at info@ottawacathedral.ca for more information. The dedication is noted each week in the Order of Service |
