Joan was born and raised in Montreal, and moved to Ottawa with her family in 1980. It took her a little while to acclimatize, but Joan has grown to love this city. She began to study theology at Saint. Paul University and after two years, she discerned a call to ordained ministry. Our Bishop agreed, and Joan was ordained in 1988. She feels fortunate in her life and has enjoyed a very fulfilling career.
Joan says she is inspired by music of the Church. She enjoys the meditative nature of knitting. She loves walking and feeling the breeze ruffling her hair. She delights in enjoying time relaxing in the garden while she watches the squirrels and birds at play.
In 2013, Joan retired from full time work and discovered that part time placements were just right for her. Now it’s time for something different and Joan is looking forward to having a new parish home at our Cathedral.
