Hello and welcome to COVID Communiqué 48. It’s not an easy time right now — as the numbers of vaccinations and COVID-19 cases both keep rising, the long-term hope generated by the former fights incrementally against the immediate fears the fast-moving variants bring. Although it is a dark time, as people of faith we take hope in the Resurrection and trust in the new life in Christ that is with us no matter what.

Please strive to support and encourage anyone in your congregation who is worn down after long months of uncertainty and stress, and urge them to get vaccinated — it is remarkable how a few drops of vaccine bring an immediate release of stress.

We are continuing to monitor public health and government decisions in both provinces that may affect how our diocese operates, and we’ll update you on developments as necessary. As ever, for any questions contact: C19helpdesk@ottawa.anglican.ca.
