PWRDF responds to Hurricane Dorian

PWRDF has released $20,000 to Episcopal Relief and Development towards the emergency relief for people affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. “ERD staff have been in touch with the Bishop of Nassau,” said Zaida Bastos, PWRDF’s Director of Development Partnership Program. “They have also made contact with some people in charge of the health infrastructure that was destroyed. Several U.S. Episcopal Dioceses and churches are organizing to respond to the emergency.” Bastos notes that it was not possible to reach the Bahamas until yesterday, and only by helicopter. “We are now beginning to understand the devastating impact of the hurricane.”
